Author: Jil Faith Kuye
SUMMARY: The narrative unfolds in a season where God’s voice feels distant and faith is quietly tested. In the stillness, the believer is invited to trust beyond what is felt and hold on to who God is. What seems like silence becomes a place of refinement and preparation, revealing that God is not absent, but at work beneath the surface. It closes with a quiet confidence, choosing trust over doubt, and resting in the truth that even in silence, God remains faithful.

Hi, everyone, welcome to The Believer’s Walk. My name is Jil Faith Kuye, and I am so glad you’re here. This is a space where we talk about faith, growth, waiting seasons, and becoming everything God has called us to be.
If you’ve ever felt unsure, in between, or like you’re waiting on God for something important, this series is for you. Today, I will be sharing my very first post, and I pray it blesses you. So if it’s your first time listening here, I’m so glad you’re here today.
Today’s reflection is about something we all experienced at some point in our walk with God. Those seasons when God feels silent. In the journey of faith, there are moments when the reassuring voice of God feels distant.
Sometimes, it even feels like he’s not speaking at all. And in those moments, it can feel very confusing, even frustrating because we are asking questions, and it seems like the answers are not coming. And so we begin to ask the big question, God, where are you?
Well, here is something important I want you to hold on to. When God is silent, it does not mean he is absent. Sometimes, his silence is not abandonment.
It’s an invitation, an invitation to trust him deeper, deeper than what you can hear, and to believe him beyond what you can feel. Just like nature has seasons, our spiritual journey also has seasons of stillness. There are some times we have times of movement, and there are times of waiting.
And in those quiet seasons, one thing remains constant, God is still working. Even when we cannot see it, even when we cannot hear it, sometimes God’s silence is a time of shaping us, refining us, preparing us for what is ahead. Just like a gardener prunes a tree, not to harm it.”
“But to make it fruitful, God may be shaping something in us that we cannot understand. And in those moments when we cannot hear his voice clearly, we return to what we know about him. We remember his character, his faithfulness, his love, his wisdom.”
“Because when God is silent, he has not changed. Sometimes the silence is where faith grows strongest. Because faith is not only believing when God speaks clearly, it is also trusting when he feels quiet.
And in those quiet seasons, don’t withdraw. Instead, pray, reflect on scripture. Find the scripture for your season.
Stay in his word. Seek wise counsel. Because sometimes God speaks through stillness.
Sometimes God speaks through people. And sometimes true scripture that suddenly comes alive to you. So if you’re in a silent season right now, don’t panic.”
“Don’t assume God has left you. He is still there, still working, still faithful, and still writing your story. Psalm 73 and verse 28 reminds us that it is good to draw near to God.
So even in silence, don’t be a stranger.
Stay near to God and always remember this. God loves you and so do I.
So till next time, have a lovely week.”
